Burning RVMi *ISO files produces rvmintegrator.img file. Only one with this error??

The RVM Integrator was created by picking the mind of RyanVM of msfn.org. It allows you to actually slipstream windows hotfixes and third party software directly into a windows install disk. This is unlike any other software out there that claims to do this. It allows advanced users to create simple UpdatePack/Addons for others to use to slipstream things to their disks.

At this point in time I do not have the information as to the size of the ISO's I mentioned above but I will guess that they were between 600Mb and 1.2 Gb in size. The larger size is from my inclusion of DriverPacks - which does add to the overall size. The completion time was still in the less than a minute range - as posted.

I only mentioned nLite because there were/are many comments in various forums to NOT mix and match integrators - especially if DriverPacks is also used.

I ran the same case as I have been running before, but this time I ran the Beta 2.1 only on two computers today 3/ 5/12. The interesting thing is I got very different results. One computer has an Intel 3 GHZ and the other has an Intel 2 GHZ -- they are not identical, both old and slow which can account for the time difference.

The results are as follows:

Faster CPU computer

Time to integrate 748 sec
Time to Make ISO 26 sec
Size ISO 556,161,600 bytes
Files in ISO from IsoBuster 3 small files, 1 rvmintegrator.img, 1 I386 335,872 bytes

Slower computer
Time to integrate 1121 sec
Time to Make ISO 52min 53sec
Size ISO 599,404,544 bytes
Files in ISO from IsoBuster same 3 small files, 1 large SETUP 1,314,816, 1 rvmintegrator.img, 1 Autorun, I386 337,920, Components file 2,048

As far as I can determine, the Beta code 2.1 was downloaded from the same location, but there are clearly differences which can not be accounted solely bu CPU and other differences.

I am willing to pursue this to determine which, or either, is correct.

Please let me know what you think I can do.

I have lost replies to this Forum in the recent past, so I wanted to get the reply with the above data to you ASAP. You suggested, I looked at the MS code sysxxxx and it is humongous. The small Icons filed more than a complete computer screen. You suggested I look at it, and I did. I don't have the years in time not interest to use what time I have to learn how to use the MONSTER. Thanks but no thanks.

Back to some sense of reality. I will make CDs of the results I described above to run on the VirtualBox. It will be interesting to see what VB does with only I386 and a bunch of small codes from the 26 sec Make ISO file.

Comments??

I left you two (2) posts this morning with data on the ISOs generated by beta 2.1 and the same data as used before. Now the Posts are gone AGAIN. This crummy Forum has lost several Postss and I am not goingf to reconstruct any more posts. Base response: One Make ISO took 26 sec and another (same data, same code) on another computer took 53 min.

I made ISO image CDs of both Make ISO files and ran them on VM Virtual Box. The ISO file that took 53 min ran on VB with one error (could not find clock.???) and WinXP is fully installed with IE8 running now.

I inserted the 26 sec wonder ISO file in VB and it ran just about 26 sec before I got an error "could not find hpn.sys." Said hit Return to continue. I hit Return aand it said it was terminating -- which it did. The 26 sec ISO Beta 2.1 generated is useless in this case. It should not require an hour to Make ISO, but if that is required, seems users will have to live with it.

Since I expect this will be removed by someone, I will sign off and hope it gets posted.

If you have lost any posts then that will have to be an issue you can bring up with Siginet.

I just check here every day or so and would have no idea as to what is new/added/deleted.

As far as the MONSTER program you mentioned - what are you talking about? What is MS code sysxxx?

I did say to download Process Explorer from the Sysinternals web site, start Process Explorer, and monitor it while you were running Ryan and making the ISO to see if anyhting untoward occured. There is nothing extreme about Process Explorer.

Beyond that, I have no further suggestions or comments about the problems you are having - did you bother to check the other forums mentioned?

I will checkout Process Explorer and see if I can figure out how to run it. If I learn anything of interest, I will let you know.

I compared the LOG files from the two computers today, and I found one difference in the input. I changed the input to agree with the slower machine run noted above, and now the time to Integrate and time To Make are changed slightly. The size of the ISO files on the two computers are identical. The only big difference is the time to Make ISO. The slower computer time of 53 min is unchanged, and the faster machine with the revised input is now 1 min 0 sec. I have no explanation for this big difference in time. Comparison of the LOG files doesn't show any difference now except for the time to Integrate and time to Make ISO.

Unless you have additional comments, I am going to close this thread, and just accept there is a big difference in Time to Make between the two computers which I cannot explain.

Thanks for your help.

@CHL2012 I'm sorry you are having this issue. But I think it would be safe to say that the issue resides with your computer. This is the first I have ever heard of an issue like this in the years RVM Integrator has been created. My guess is some issue with a memory chip or a hard drive in your machine.

Something I would attempt to do is run CCleaner on your system. Make sure to delete any temp files. If that doesn't change anything. Maybe try plugging in an external drive and attempting everything on the external drive.

I wish I could help more... but I'm at a loss as to what the issue could be.

Thank you for your reporting of this issue!
