Rename-function

Postby R2D2 » Tue Sep 21, 2010 3:07 am

Hello!

First, thanks for this phantastic piece of software!

But I've found a very little problem since Microsoft has KB Numbers with 7 digits.

If I use the rename function (Tab Hotfix, Options, Rename, to KB Number), the KB numb is cut to 6 digits.

This file
office2003-KB2288613-FullFile-DEU.exe
is renamed to
KB228861.exe

I hope you change this in the next release.

Thanks!

Word KB2344993 Problem

Postby PDL707 » Fri Oct 15, 2010 2:30 pm

I have been using the office integrator ver 1.1 build 20 to slipstream office 2007 ProPlus with SP2 and 22 hotfixes. MU says I still need Word KB2344993.

The word.msp file in the Updates folder is 9,862 KB. If I slipstream KB2344993 only without the other 21 hotfixes, the word.msp file is 9,185 KB. If I copy this file into the Updates folder replacing the 9,862 KB file, MU is happy.

In Sept, I had the same problem with Word KB2251419. I did not have this problem with any of the office 2007 hotfixes prior to Sept 2010. It appears that the word hotfix is not being slipstreamed correctly.

Hi Benners not sure if you are aware....

in this post people are reporting that if you install office 11 with all latest slipstreamed updates to win xp sp3 which had all latest updates.... office breaks some of the windows updates and they need to be reinstalled...

This only happened to me after I installed a manually slipstreamed Office 2003 with SP3. The Office 2003 installer overwrote an updated version of MSWRD832.CNV with an older one from the Office 2003 files and that was, what was causing my problem with MU reporting KB973904 as not installed.

After building the package with Office Integrator (Office 2003 + SP3 + latest Hotpack), I no longer got any MU warnings because the Hotpack integration had the new version of MSWRD832.CNV

Apparently, the windows Office 2003 installer does not do any version checking when installing and will just overwrite the file, even if the target file is newer.

Multilanguage support

Office Integrator is a great tool. I wonder is it possible to add support for Office 2003 MUI packs? :)

Hi Benners

Was just packaging up the updates for the XP release and i noticed a small issue, actually maybe 2 - the first i noticed some time ago, that the OI is only displaying the 6 digits of the old hotfix numbers (ie KB9xxxxx) and not the new 7 digit numbers (ie KB2xxxxxx).

This seems to have led to a secondary issue that it added a hotfix KB2289169 to the obsolete folder, in the display it is shown as KB228916 (as noted above as the 1st issue), but then it also copies KB2289162 as well to the obsolete folder, even though it does integrate it into the hotpack. I suspect it just copies any kb228916* which catches the KB2289169 (obsolete) and KB2289162 (needed) into the obsolete folder.

A little bug correction to add :-)

Yep. saw this new naming and thought that's gonna break something. Same as mentioned by r2d2 and PDL707. I am going to have to make some time soon and fix a few things sooner than planned.
