Thanks TwoJ for using extra time to upload the latest hotpack to mediafire.

I'm sorry but I am not a very experienced uploader so I have never used software for managing uploads to multiple sites.

Getting an error on integration

Postby Mandarin » Wed Jan 19, 2011 7:00 pm

Getting the following error right after the integration process starts:
<ERROR #1> A problem occurred integrating the patch (OTKLOADR.msp) <ERROR #1<
Not had any problems before with previous hotpacks. Any ideas?

No, but can you check the hash and see if its the same as the MD5 hash posted next to the downloads, its possible the upload or download might have been corrupted.

I've found a bug in the OHotfix.ini (Hotpack ENU). I used this .ini file to find the KB* in Spanish and make my Hotpack ESN.

In strings "KB2*" misses the last digit in [Z-Patchcode] and the singles hotfixes. Seems to be a problem of max length limit on strings. The old KB* has 8 characters, while new KB2* have 9 characters

Example:

[Excel.msp]
KB = KB234489
Description = Security Update for Excel 2003 (KB2344893)
URL = http://support.microsoft.com/kb/234489
Patchcode = {09DA63C3-A2D6-4555-93FC-8C3BD245629F}

KB = KB234489 misses the last digit "3", and URL then breaks the link and lost to the description. In this case the url go to KB234489 (OLEXP: How to Disable the Picture Slide Show Feature in Outlook Express). In other cases the link return a error that don't exist the page or not find the KB*.

Here I do not know what effect does this digit less. But if [Z-Patchcode] creates registry entries to check for updates then windows update might fail.

The hash checked out OK but I tried with an earlier pack from October and get the same problem with that so it looks like my source CD has become corrupted somehow.

Would maybe interesting if there was some hash checking function builtin to the OI to verify the source.

I don't know what is going on because I can't get the OI to run with anything, it always fails at the same point posted a few posts up. I went right back to the original O2003 CD and slipstreamed SP3 in (which the log says was successful) but once it hits the hotpack it falls over and stops. I have used that CD as a source loads of times over the last few years with not one glitch. I have deleted all the log files and downloaded the OI again (build 20) and tried again from scratch but with no joy. It doesn't appear to be this particular hotpack because it fails at the same point with one from earlier last year too.

Hi Mandarin

I'm not sure what to suggest - maybe post the output log of the OI. I would try to track down a bit more the cause, if you know that it is working by integrating only SP3, then try integrating SP3 plus 1 hotfix, or maybe just the orginal with 1 hotfix or the hotpack. If you have access to another computer you should try it on the other machine.
Hope that helps

Good news - tried this on a Vista based system and it worked perfectly, as it always had previously on my XP based systems. No idea what the problem is with the XP builds but with Vista it sailed through perfectly.
