[UPDATE] Office11 (2003) Post SP3 HotPack - English

Slipstreams Office Servicepacks, hotfixes and custom HotPacks into your Office 2003 Suite. It also creates a reg file with needed entries to satisfy Microsoft Update.

Ok. Seems most everything went ok after an update of the CD.

After checking the update site, the only one now showing is "Security Update for Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 (KB945432)". Not a problem, but at least it cuts the installs down to one.

In addition, the ISO file failed to write on the Office Integrator. I do not know why it failed, but it did fail. I have included the relevant section of the log file below:

Is there plenty of space on the F drive?

Yes. There would be 18.5gb free. I am going to try further updating a couple more of the CDs I have pertaining to Office 2003 Enterprise version. I will let you know how they go. Luckily, I have alternative means to write the CD if the iso writing fails.

However, this leads me to something else ... since I did not do an actual "install" of the program, maybe it was looking for a certain file (executable maybe?) to make the ISO with? Anyway, further testing ensues.

To further add to this, the above error only shows if I have the "Create ISO" option selected.

I have continued to slipstream all of the CDs except for the 3rd one which has Visio on it. Every time I select the Setup.exe file off of the CD, it comes up with and additional error "Line -1: Error: Array variable subscript badly formatted." Being that I do not know what it is looking for, I cannot be certain what is causing the problem. That is the only Office CD I am having problems with.

The KB945432 problem is fixed in the next version. Normally when creating a HotPack if two updates have the same msp file inside it is presumed that one replaces to other. As stated in previous posts KB945432 looks to have been replaced by KB953432 both have the OUTLOOK.msp file and they update the same files. Now this particular update will be renamed so as not to be overwritten.

To create the ISO mkisofs.exe and it is sometimes hard to get the output so after the program finishes a check is done to see if the ????.iso file exists and if not an error occurs. I don't know why the ISO is not created, the next build will log the command line used, I may be able to find out more then. I have tested the ISO function and it works here, does the F drive have write access?.

The array problem is also fixed in the next build, it was something new to determine if Service Packs had been previously integrated and used fixed version numbers. Just out of curiosity what is the ProductVersion of your Visio, you can find it in the setup.ini file.

I incidentally hijacked this thread thinking there was a problem with the update pack. I have relocated my discussion over to the correct thread.

Thank you for the wonderful work skinnyJM.

I do not know when skinnyJM is going to come back to this, however I may have a solution for those of you looking for recent updates not included in this wonderful update patch.

Microsoft's update catalog allows any one "administratively" to download the latest updates for probably all of Microsoft's products. Just search for 'Office 2003', and then sort by date. There will be a few to download.
