I CAN'T I RDP FROM OUTSIDE MY NETWORK?

OEM A.C.T. (OEM Activation Control Technology)
This is a method that allows you to create a Windows XP Setup disk that has Multiple Manufacturer oembios.* files on it. During installation a script is run that determines what oembios.* files are needed for the system so that you will have a pre-activated install. This will help lessen the times that you need to call Microsoft for activation. :D

I CAN'T I RDP FROM OUTSIDE MY NETWORK?

Postby markblake » Mon Aug 21, 2017 5:10 am

Hello,

I have a router in my home network and it is setup to port forward RDP requests to my server. I'm able to remote desktop into my server from within my home network, but not outside. Whenever I tried to connect from outside, it tells me it cannot make the connection.

Internally, I connect using the name of my server. From outside, I have to use my WAN IP address, which I get from whatismyip.com.

Can anyone suggest what else besides the port forwarding (in the attached image) I can do to remote desktop from outside my home network?

I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
