[Coming Soon] IT techware Backup & Restore

Here are some other small tools that have been created by Siginet that are in someway helpful.

[Coming Soon] IT techware Backup & Restore

Postby Siginet » Tue Dec 14, 2010 10:58 am

The first utility from "IT techware" is coming soon!

IT techware Backup & Restore

This is not like any other Backup Utility.
It is meant to be used on computers before you are going to reinstall them.
It backs up....
Fonts
Shared Docs
Each Users...
Desktop
Favorites
My Music
My Pictures
My Videos
My Documents
Outlook Express
Microsoft Office PST Files
Windows Live Mail
Firefox Bookmarks
And More Features will be added later...

What sets this aside from any other backup utility is the fact that you can choose to "Copy" the files (Like any other backup utility) or you can choose to "Move" the files.

Having the option to Move the files can cut down on Backups done before a reinstall at a very noticeable rate! As you know when you Move files from one place to another (on the same hard drive) it is much faster then Copying them.

Plus this utility can be launched from within windows... or within a Preinstallation Environment. :)

In a later version. After the initial beta testing you will have an option to add other directories to it as well.
I also plan to come up with a way for users to create little plugin files so that they can add support for backing up other utilities.
I also plan to integrate the source code from my DriverGrabber program into it so that Driver backup will be an option as well. (That's if I can find the source code to my DriverGrabber program. :( I seem to have lost it.)

What a novel and useful tool! Just like RVM, PowerPacker and OEMSCAN, I bet it would make my life much easier. Thanks.

Thanks Guys! I'm still trying to find the hard drive I have the source code for driverGrabber on. I know it's on one of my many old hard drives. Once I find it I will get going on getting the first beta ready for you guys to use.
